August 29 – According to official news from Manchester United, the team’s midfielder Mason Mount suffered a minor injury during last weekend’s match against Brighton and will miss the next few league games. According to The Athletic (TA), the player has suffered a hamstring injury and is expected to be out for 4-5 weeks.
Mount himself posted about his injury on social media, writing, “In the last game, I noticed a slight muscle issue. I’ve had it checked out, and it looks like I’ll be missing a few games.”
“During pre-season and pre-game preparations, I worked hard to get my body back to where it should be, feeling re-energized, sharp-minded, and ready. I will do everything possible to return to my best and help the team.”
Mount joined Manchester United from Chelsea last summer for a transfer fee of £55 million and has since been plagued by injuries, making only 20 appearances last season, with only 8 of those being starts.
