Arteta: Substitutes Changed the Game, We Deserved the Victory

In the 7th round of the Premier League, Havertz equalized, Saka contributed two assists and a goal, as Arsenal came from behind to beat Southampton 3-1 at home. After the game, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta spoke to the media.

Arteta said: “We started very well, dominated the game, and created many chances. It was unbelievable that we didn’t score one, two, or even three goals first. After conceding, the game became tense. I think the team’s response was very strong, and I am happy with such a reaction from the team. However, after creating so many opportunities, having to go through such a situation, I am not happy.”

“The substitutes changed the energy of the game and the mood of the crowd. In the end, we won, and I believe we deserved it.”

Speaking about Kai Havertz, Arteta said: “He is really eager to improve, a very smart player, and he is highly focused on achieving his goals. During the last international break, we lost many players, facing a very tough schedule, but we always find a way.”
