Spanish Media: Mbappé Scores Goals and Provides Assists, Performance Reaches Expectations

According to Spain’s Marca, since joining Real Madrid, Mbappé has scored six goals and provided one assist in eight matches, demonstrating formidable offensive power. The data doesn’t lie; Mbappé has quickly found his rhythm. As the top scorer in the team, he seems to be gradually reaching his peak form. Once Mbappé switches to “flight mode,” it becomes a nightmare for opponents. Indeed, in the last four games, he scored five goals, closely tied to Real Madrid’s current winning streak, with the team achieving four consecutive victories.

Such goal-scoring efficiency is not uncommon for Mbappé, as he had even more impressive starts before. The only question was whether he could continue this “tradition” after transferring to Real Madrid. This question was answered in the first few weeks of Mbappé’s arrival at Real Madrid. In his first eight games, he scored six goals, which is on par with his performance during his time at Paris Saint-Germain. Last season, he scored eight goals in his first eight games; in the 22-23 season, he netted ten goals in the first eight games; in the 20-21 season, it was seven goals; in the 19-20 season, he also scored six goals. Only in the 21-22 season (four goals) did his goal tally fall below average. Mbappé usually starts with full force, and he brought this characteristic to Real Madrid.

“I feel better in every game. I understand the needs of the team, teammates, and the coach more and more. To achieve our goals, we must win many games,” Mbappé said after defeating Real Sociedad.

Marca noted that these words demonstrate the outstanding adaptability of this French star. It is a promising start, indicating that he will follow the trajectory of the past few seasons, scoring at least forty goals each season: in the 23-24 season, he scored 44 goals; in the 22-23 season, he scored 41 goals; in the 20-21 season, it was 42 goals.

Mbappé’s first season as a Real Madrid player is progressing smoothly. The only minor setbacks were two unexpected draws at the start of the league against Mallorca and Las Palmas. Apart from that, he scored on his debut in the UEFA Super Cup and also made an impact in his Champions League debut against Stuttgart, scoring four goals in the league so far, including three consecutive games.

Carlo Ancelotti deserves credit for helping Mbappé integrate into the team. Since joining, Mbappé has occupied an indispensable core position. Despite limited preseason preparation time, he started in the UEFA Super Cup and has not been left out of the starting lineup by the head coach since then. As the only player in the Real Madrid trident who hasn’t been rotated, Mbappé has started all eight games. He was substituted off only three times in the final stages of the games, missing just seventeen minutes out of the 720 minutes played by Real Madrid this season. Only Thibaut Courtois and Federico Valverde have played more minutes than him.
