According to L’Equipe, Liverpool star Arnold is interested in acquiring the Ligue 1 club Nantes.
The report states that Arnold hopes to complete this acquisition through his father’s management investment fund. There are rumors that the Arnolds might make an offer of 100 million euros with an additional 40 million euros in variables.
Nantes, founded in 1943, has won the Ligue 1 title eight times and the French Cup four times in its history. However, since the 01/02 season, the team has not been in contention for the Ligue 1 title and has even been relegated to Ligue 2 twice. In the last 11 seasons, the team’s best league performance was a 7th-place finish in Ligue 1.
However, a few hours later, well-known Liverpool correspondent James Pearce tweeted that, based on the information he has, the reports are not true.
