On September 25 at 02:45, Chelsea will face Barrow in the third round of the EFL Cup. Ahead of the match, Chelsea’s manager Enzo Maresca attended a press conference.
Gusto missed Chelsea’s last two games due to an injury sustained during the match against Crystal Palace before the international break. Last week, Gusto participated in adjusted training sessions along with Lavia, and Maresca was asked about both players during his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon.
Maresca said, “Gusto can play tomorrow. Lavia is not ready for tomorrow, but hopefully he will be available for the Brighton game. Yes, Hall is likely to start tomorrow night. We have a training session this afternoon, and I prefer to inform the players about the lineup first rather than the media.”
Maresca was also asked whether Chukwuemeka and Chilwell would be included in the squad for the match against Barrow, as well as the status of academy players George and Kwarteng. He said, “The players you mentioned will all be in the squad tomorrow. We’ll see if some of them will start, and if not, they will be on the bench, hoping to give them some playing time.”
