On October 7, according to Beiqing Sports, the national team’s coaching staff did not arrange any form of training or tactical theory study for the team during the day on the 7th. Instead, they let the players catch up on sleep to quickly adjust their physical condition.
It is understood that shortly after arriving at the hotel around 5 PM local time on the 6th, the national team stayed there for less than 90 minutes before heading to a nearby stadium, only about a half-hour drive away, for their first training session since arrival.
Encouragingly, all 23 players who arrived in Australia, including Wang Dalei, Gao Zhunyi, Lin Liangming, and others who previously missed the Shanghai training due to fatigue injuries, participated in this joint training session. This will undoubtedly benefit the coaching staff in their lineup planning for the away match against Australia on the 10th.
As previously reported by the Beiqing Youth Daily reporter, CFA Chairman Song Kai and Xu Jiren, the vice-chairman in charge of the national team, both traveled with the team to Adelaide. This clearly shows the importance the CFA places on this match. In other words, even if the national team is outmatched, they must not lose heart but instead strive to score goals, earn points, and secure victory with all their effort.
Notably, the national team’s recent training intensity has generally been low, which is related to the injury crisis affecting the team. The coaching staff realizes that the players, after a dense club schedule, are already severely physically drained. Although the CFA specially reserved business-class seats for the players on the outbound flight, many players could not sleep on the plane due to factors such as turbulence and noise in the cabin. Therefore, the coaching staff did not arrange any training or theoretical study during the day on the 7th but allowed the players to sleep in. With obvious fatigue and injury issues, head coach Ivanković must take good care of the players’ physical condition.
