Guardiola: De Bruyne Expected to Be Available for Arsenal Clash

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that despite Kevin De Bruyne’s recent injury, the Belgian international could be available for this weekend’s match against Arsenal.

In the first Champions League game of the week against Inter Milan, De Bruyne was substituted at half-time, apparently due to a groin issue during an attack. After receiving brief treatment from the City medical team at half-time, De Bruyne continued playing for a while before being replaced by Phil Foden. The match ultimately ended in a 0-0 draw.

Post-match reports indicated that City had decided not to risk De Bruyne, although his injury was not severe and did not require a long rest period, he was initially ruled out of the game against Arsenal. However, Guardiola’s latest comments suggest that De Bruyne’s participation over the weekend is not entirely out of the question.

Guardiola said, “De Bruyne feels better today, but he hasn’t returned to training yet. He rested today, will train tomorrow, we’ll see.”

When asked if De Bruyne would play on Sunday, Guardiola simply said, “It’s possible.”
