On September 23, according to official sources, the US-based Friedkin Group has reached an agreement with Premier League’s Everton Football Club regarding the acquisition of a majority stake.
According to a previous report by The Athletic, the Friedkin Group will acquire 94% of the club shares currently held by Everton’s current owner Farhad Moshiri, thereby officially taking over Everton Football Club.
Now, the Friedkin Group and Blue Heaven Holdings Limited, owned by Moshiri, have issued a joint statement confirming that both parties have reached an agreement on the acquisition of a majority stake, awaiting regulatory approval to formally complete the acquisition process.
It is worth noting that as the owner of the Friedkin Group, billionaire Dan Friedkin from Texas, USA, is also the owner of Serie A’s AS Roma. He was once very close to acquiring Everton but withdrew due to concerns about the club’s debt issues.
It is understood that after completing this acquisition, the Friedkin Group will also inject funds into Everton to gradually resolve the club’s significant debts.
