Romano reports that Manchester United is on the verge of signing 16-year-old Arsenal prodigy Chido Obi Martin, with an official announcement imminent.
Chido will be attending an event hosted by FC25 in London this Thursday alongside Manchester United legend Eric Cantona. Additionally, Chido received notification from Manchester United’s management on Friday that the Premier League has approved his transfer procedures.
The 16-year-old forward, who came through Arsenal’s youth academy, opted not to sign a formal contract with Arsenal after receiving an invitation from Manchester United and left the Gunners upon the expiration of his youth contract.
Last season, at the age of 15, Chido represented Arsenal’s U16 team in a 14-3 victory over Liverpool, scoring 10 goals in that match. In April, he also scored seven goals in a 9-0 win for the U18 team against Norwich.
