On September 19, according to British media Daily Mail, the UK police will investigate the racial abuse that Bellingham and Saka faced online during the Euro Cup.
It is understood that The FA has received a UEFA report indicating that Saka and Bellingham were the two players subjected to the most severe online abuse during the entire Euro Cup. The FA provided approximately £25,000 to the police to fund prosecutions for online abuse of players.
The UEFA report points out that Saka was the most frequently targeted individual with “Level 1” racial abuse, experiencing 51 instances of verbal attacks, while Bellingham faced 40. UEFA categorizes Level 1 remarks as “the most harmful and those deemed prosecutable by law.”
