According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Argentine star Sergio Aguero claims that Barcelona owes him 3 million euros after terminating his contract. Additionally, a brokerage firm is demanding 10 million euros from Barcelona, stating that this amount represents their commission for the transfer of Ousmane Dembele to Paris Saint-Germain.
In its financial report for the 2023-24 season, Barcelona mentioned that Aguero had submitted a mediation application requesting the club pay him 3 million euros. He stated that this sum was owed to him by the club based on his contract following his retirement due to heart issues. On June 21, 2024, a mediation meeting took place between both parties, but the club noted, “As of the date of preparation of the annual financial statements, this claim has not yet entered into specific social court proceedings, and the club has received no notification that the claim has been accepted and processed.”
Moreover, the brokerage firm filed a lawsuit against Barcelona on June 18, 2024, demanding payment of 10 million euros in brokerage fees, claiming that this amount represented their compensation for facilitating the transfer of Ousmane Dembele to Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023. Barcelona has raised objections and responded to this. Paris Saint-Germain paid a buyout clause of 50 million euros, but according to the terms of Dembele’s contract with Barcelona, which expired in 2024, 25 million euros would be paid to Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko.
