The Oman Football Association stated: By mutual agreement, the Oman Football Association has agreed to terminate the contract with Czech national Josef Hrubes.

Hrubes is currently 62 years old. He took over from the current Chinese national team head coach Ivankovic in February this year to become the head coach of Oman. Under his leadership, the team played six matches with a record of one win, two draws, and three losses. In the recent two matches of the top 18 qualifiers, Oman suffered consecutive defeats with a 0-1 loss to Iraq and a 1-3 defeat against South Korea.
