Saturday saw the first defeat of the season for Fenerbahçe, managed by José Mourinho, in the Turkish Super League, with the Portuguese coach expressing strong dissatisfaction with the result.

In the match against Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, playing at home, lost 1-3. Post-game, Mourinho, in a poor mood, did not stay at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium to attend the press conference but left the venue straight away.

Galatasaray appeared exceptionally elated over Mourinho’s disappointment and posted multiple messages on social media mocking the coach known as “The Special One.”

One post featured an edited book cover titled The Crying One, with Mourinho looking particularly dejected on the cover. Another post was a photo of Mourinho standing behind Galatasaray’s head coach Okan Buruk, captioned as “The Winning One.” Additionally, another post satirized the recently popular slogan “Mourinho Universe” used by Fenerbahçe and its supporters.

Since taking over Fenerbahçe in early June this year, this is Mourinho’s tenth match with the team and his second loss. Prior to this, he suffered a defeat against Lille in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, leading Fenerbahçe to shift to the Europa League.
