It is reported that the 40-year-old Iniesta has decided to end his professional career. It is understood that he will formally announce his decision during an event on the 8th of this month.

Iniesta has played for Barcelona, Vissel Kobe, and Al Wasl successively. He became a free agent at the end of the 23/24 season. Throughout his club career, he won the Champions League four times, the Club World Cup three times, La Liga nine times, the Copa del Rey six times, the Emperor’s Cup once, and the J1 League once.

Since making his national team debut in May 2006, Iniesta has made 131 appearances for the Spanish national team, scoring 14 goals and providing 30 assists, winning one World Cup and two European Championships.
