The UK’s The Sun has published a feature article introducing the three sons of former Chelsea legend Eidur Gudjohnsen.
Eidur Gudjohnsen, aged 46 this year, is a legendary football star who played for several major European clubs, including PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Monaco, and Tottenham Hotspur. Notably, he made 263 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 78 goals and winning two Premier League titles and one League Cup.
The Gudjohnsen family is a “football dynasty.” His father, Arnor, played for Bologna and the Icelandic national team before winning the Champions League with Barcelona. All three of his sons are also involved in football, and The Sun provides an overview of each of them.
Eidur Gudjohnsen’s eldest son, Sven-Aron Gudjohnsen, is 26 years old. He began his youth training at La Masia while his father was playing for Barcelona. After playing in Spain, he returned to the Icelandic league in 2016 and subsequently played in Italy, Sweden, and Germany. Currently, Aron plays for Sarpsborg 08 FF in Norway and has made 20 appearances for Iceland.
Eidur Gudjohnsen’s youngest son, Daniel Gudjohnsen, is 18 years old and plays as a forward. He was part of the youth teams of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Malmö FF. Last year, he made his debut for Malmö FF’s first team. Due to his outstanding talent, he was named by The Guardian as one of the most promising players born in 2006 worldwide in October 2023.
Eidur Gudjohnsen’s second son, Andri Gudjohnsen, is also a forward who spent his youth career in Spain (Barcelona, Espanyol, and Real Madrid). He scored four goals in 21 games for Real Madrid’s B team before leaving Spain for the Swedish league in 2022, where he scored just one goal in 32 games. In August last year, he transferred to Danish Superliga club FC Løgismose, scoring 13 goals in 28 games. This summer, he moved to Belgian club KAA Gent. To date, he has made 26 appearances for Iceland, scoring six goals.
On October 4th, at 3 am, Andri Gudjohnsen will face his father’s famous club, Chelsea, at Stamford Bridge in the first round of the UEFA Europa Conference League with KAA Gent.
