Manchester United’s head coach, Erik ten Hag, has been having a tough time recently. Not only is his position under threat, but he also faced some divine-level trolling from the renowned pizza brand Domino’s.
Domino’s parked a truck outside Old Trafford with a large message that read: “We’re hiring (Eric, not you).” This stunt instantly went viral, making ten Hag’s name once again the focus of heated discussion. Domino’s didn’t forget to add fuel to the fire on social media by posting: “Important jobs require the right people!”
This coincides with ten Hag’s coaching performance at Manchester United being hard to praise, and his future becoming increasingly uncertain.
A spokesperson for Domino’s humorously commented: “It looks like ten Hag might be out of a job, and we happen to need more hands to cope with the upcoming peak sales season. We are looking for talents who can deliver results… sorry, it seems ten Hag won’t make the cut this time.”
According to British media reports, Manchester United’s management is preparing to hold an emergency meeting to discuss ten Hag’s future. However, ten Hag is currently not in Manchester; he chose to take advantage of the international break to relax and recharge himself.
ten Hag certainly doesn’t want to become the next Nagelsmann. The young coach was fired by Bayern Munich while skiing in March 2023.
It’s worth noting that ten Hag’s contract with Manchester United runs until 2026. Will this current controversy bring his contract to an early end?
