Recently, the South Korean parliament summoned individuals including Chung Mong-Kyu for questioning. Parliamentarian Lee Ki-Kwan presented evidence indicating significant issues with the Korea Football Association’s (KFA) coach selection process.
Lee Ki-Kwan stated that according to the KFA’s meeting minutes, the association had already determined a list of candidates, including Klinsmann, before the formation of the technical committee responsible for selecting the new coach.
Following this, a parliamentarian challenged Chung Mong-Kyu, asking, “If it is ultimately proven that the KFA indeed made an unfair decision due to your actions in appointing Klinsmann, would you be willing to take responsibility for it?” Chung Mong-Kyu promptly responded, “I will take responsibility.”
