Sources: Arnold at Risk of Leaving Club; Leverkusen Right-Back Jeremie Frimpong is Liverpool’s Top Transfer Target

The English media outlet Football Insider reports that should Trent Alexander-Arnold ultimately decide to leave Liverpool, the right-back from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, Jeremie Frimpong, would become the Reds’ top choice for a direct replacement.

Sources have informed the press that Arnold will only sign a new contract with Liverpool if he feels his ambitions align with those of the club. He has hinted at this in interviews: “Honestly, what matters most are trophies. I want to win trophies; I am a player who is highly driven to win and be among the elite.”

Alexander-Arnold is entering the final year of his contract, which expires in June 2025. Liverpool has not yet reached an agreement on a contract extension with the player. On the other hand, the 23-year-old Frimpong helped Leverkusen achieve a league and cup double last season and has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time. He is also their top choice for a right-back replacement.
