In the second round of the Champions League, Bonifas scored the only goal of the game, and Leverkusen eventually defeated AC Milan 1-0 at home. Adding to their away victory of 4-0 over Feyenoord in the first round, Leverkusen has won both of their Champions League matches this season.
Last season, they had five wins and one draw in six home games in the Europa League. Coupled with the final three home games of the 2022/23 Europa League season, which ended with one win and two draws, Leverkusen has now gone ten home games unbeaten in European competitions (seven wins and three draws). This is their longest unbeaten streak at home in European competitions in team history. Their last defeat at home in a European competition was a 2-3 loss to Monaco in the Europa League playoff round in February 2023.
It’s worth noting that last season, Leverkusen had fourteen wins and three draws in seventeen Bundesliga home games without a single loss. However, they have already lost once in their first two home games of the Bundesliga this season (losing 2-3 to Leipzig in the second round).
