According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, former Real Madrid and Manchester United defender Raphael Varane is considering retirement.
Romano posted on social media: “Raphael Varane is considering an immediate retirement from professional football. After the Frenchman’s recent injury, Varane has seriously considered stepping away from the game in order to focus on a new chapter. His contract was discussed with Como, an Italian club, and both parties have agreed to terminate it.”
Varane signed a two-year contract when he joined Como, with a clause allowing for an extension of one additional year.
