Solskjaer once managed United for three years. In 2018, he replaced Mourinho as the interim manager of Manchester United, and subsequently led the team to finish second in the Premier League during the 2020-21 season. However, Solskjaer did not bring any trophies to Manchester United during his tenure, and after a series of consecutive losses at the end of 2021, he left his position.

With United’s current poor performance, Solskjaer has once again come into the spotlight. In the interview, he stated, “If Manchester United invites me back to manage at Old Trafford, my answer will be ‘yes’ no matter which day it is.” Since stepping down from his managerial role, Solskjaer has been working as a technical observer for UEFA. Besides managing Manchester United, Solskjaer is also very willing to take on the role of head coach for the national team of his home country, Norway: “I am a proud Norwegian, and if the current head coach decides to step down, I would like to give it a try.”
