In an interview with Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa), Schalke 04’s sporting director Matthias Thielmann stated, “Although we had a poor start to the season, I still have full confidence in the team, and I’ve said as much to the players.”
“This is also our expectation: everyone focuses on doing their own job rather than looking around. As long as everyone focuses on the present, we have a good chance of getting points when we face Münster.”
When asked about Gérats’ successor, Thielmann showed some hesitation: “Currently, we do not want to discuss this publicly because that would mean ruling out certain candidates. We are discussing it internally, and we know what qualities the new coach needs to possess.”
