On September 22, Indonesian FA Chairman Erick Thohir attended a press conference where he discussed Indonesia’s World Cup qualifiers.
Indonesia has secured two consecutive draws in their first two matches of the 18-team stage, currently ranking fourth in their group. Regarding this, Thohir said, “As I mentioned before, if we want to advance, we need to get at least 15 points. To achieve 15 points in 10 matches means we have to earn points in every game.”
In October, Indonesia will face Bahrain and China in succession. Thohir stated, “We must not underestimate these two opponents. If we can secure one win and one draw against them, it would already be very satisfying. If we manage to win both matches, it would truly be a blessing from God.”
