Among the host association teams, Inter Miami is considered the most likely candidate for the invitation. Messi is a regular at the Club World Cup. During his time with Barcelona, he participated multiple times, winning the Club World Cup championship three times in 2009, 2011, and 2015. Since 2015, Messi has not participated in the Club World Cup. In 2015, Suarez played alongside Messi for Barcelona, and this was also the only time Suarez won the Club World Cup.
