According to Spanish journalist Nuria Cruz, Manchester City midfielder Rodri, who suffered a severe knee injury, has returned to his home country of Spain on Monday and is visiting renowned doctors across major cities such as Madrid and Barcelona in hopes of obtaining as many diagnostic opinions as possible.
The report states that Rodri first visited Dr. Ramon Cugat in Barcelona. Initial assessments were somewhat optimistic, but according to the latest preliminary test results, Rodri did indeed suffer a severe injury with a torn ACL in his left knee, which is expected to end his season.
After this examination, Rodri also traveled to the Spanish capital, Madrid, to continue seeking renowned doctors for different diagnostic opinions regarding his injury.
Previously, Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen also suffered a severe knee injury, ultimately diagnosed with a complete rupture of the right knee patellar tendon. However, according to current estimates by the Manchester City team, Rodri’s injury is at least not as serious as ter Stegen’s.
