Two Seasons and Counting! Lewandowski Becomes the Top Scoring Polish Player in La Liga

In the 7th round of La Liga, Lewandowski scored the only goal of the match, ultimately helping Barcelona secure a narrow 1-0 home victory over Getafe.

According to statistics, this is Lewandowski’s 7th goal in La Liga this season, and his 49th in La Liga overall, making him the top scoring Polish player in the history of La Liga. On the other hand, this was also the first time Lewandowski has scored against Getafe in La Liga, having failed to score in his previous three encounters with them. Getafe is now the 19th team that Lewandowski has scored against in La Liga, out of the 22 teams he has faced; the only teams he hasn’t scored against are Las Palmas, Real Madrid, and Almeria.

Flick has become the third Barcelona manager to win all of his first seven matches in La Liga, following Martino in 2013 (8 matches) and Valverde in 2017 (7 matches).
