Wu Yanni: This Year, I "Evolved" into a Competition Machine, and I Am Truly Exhausted

After the race, Wu Yanni wrote on her personal social media: At the National Track and Field Relay Championships, we claimed the title! Thank you to my partner Xu Zhiyi for his outstanding performance, and to my coach and Director Sun for their meticulous guidance. Teamwork brings a unique kind of joy.

This year, I “evolved” into a competition machine, participating in a total of 18 races, setting personal bests in 5 of them, winning 4 national championships, and 2 international event titles, including the first Gold Label race championship in the history of Chinese women’s 100m hurdles. I also made my debut at the Indoor World Championships, the Diamond League, and the Olympics. Among the top 10 performances in the Chinese women’s 100m hurdles this year, 8 are mine.

This year has truly been exhausting for me, but I have held true to my principles: respecting myself, the audience, and the officials. Whether leading or lagging, whether at the peak or in the trough, I try not to miss any match and always give it my all because that’s what professional athletes should do! The love athletes have for their sport and the audience’s affection for it are the foundations of everything.

My 2025 season begins tomorrow.

Let’s continue to meet at the pinnacle~
