Lautaro: Responsibility for Derby Loss Lies with Me; My Performance Indeed Not as Good as Last Season

On September 23, in the 5th round of Serie A, Inter Milan lost 1-2 to AC Milan at home. Inter captain Lautaro took the initiative to shoulder the blame after the game, stating that the responsibility for the loss lies with himself.

Regarding the derby defeat, Lautaro said, “We didn’t play well in this match. The start was not smooth, and things only improved in the second half. We need to humbly accept the defeat and work harder in training and matches going forward.”

Lautaro stated that he bears the responsibility for the loss: “I am the captain and must take responsibility for the defeat. We must strive to improve our level in the upcoming games. My personal performance is indeed not as good as last season, and I will work hard to help the team with my performances.”

As the top scorer in Serie A last season, Lautaro has yet to open his scoring account this season. Inter’s performance in Serie A has also noticeably declined; currently, the team stands at 8 points with 2 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss, ranking 6th in the league, making a poor start to their title defense.
