Joining Southampton from Arsenal at the last minute, despite making 16 saves in 3 games for the team, Ramsdale still cannot help Southampton shake off their winless streak. Manager Martin expressed that the current performance of the team is letting Ramsdale down.
Ramsdale made his debut for Southampton just 24 hours after joining, resulting in a 1-3 loss to Brentford, followed by a 0-3 defeat against Manchester United, and most recently a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town.
Regarding Ramsdale’s performance, Manager Martin is satisfied, “He’s a top-class goalkeeper. He has played 3 games for us, I don’t know why we conceded 7 goals. This is really unfair to Ramsdale.”
Martin believes that the team’s current results do not match Ramsdale’s performances, “Although we managed to secure a point against Ipswich Town, which halted our losing streak, it’s still frustrating.”
Notably, despite conceding 7 goals in 3 games, Ramsdale has made 16 saves but still cannot help the team achieve the desired results. Up next, Southampton will face Bournemouth, and if they fail to win this game, their slump may continue. After all, their 7th round matchup is against Arsenal, and it isn’t until the 8th round that they face Leicester City in a relegation battle.
