On October 2, the Senegalese Football Federation issued an announcement declaring that the national team head coach, Aliou Cissé, has departed from his position.
The 48-year-old Aliou Cissé retired from playing in 2009 and joined the Senegalese national team coaching staff in February 2012. He officially took over as head coach in March 2015 and has since led the team in 99 matches, achieving a record of 64 wins, 22 draws, and 13 losses.
In 2022, under Aliou Cissé’s leadership, Senegal won the Africa Cup of Nations, which was the only trophy secured during his tenure.
