The New Saints were the champions of the Welsh Premier League last season. They qualified for the Europa Conference League through the play-offs and qualifying rounds, however, they cannot use their home ground, Park Hall, because it does not meet UEFA’s requirements for major matches. While UEFA stipulates that clubs must play in stadiums within the association they represent, The New Saints have received permission from UEFA to host matches outside of Wales.

Ultimately, they chose the Greenhous Meadow stadium of the English League One team Shrewsbury Town FC as their home ground for the Europa Conference League. The New Saints’ home ground can only accommodate 3,000 spectators, whereas this stadium can hold 9,875 spectators, which is a significant advantage for the Welsh side. In addition, the distance between the two grounds is only 20 miles, making it easy for the fans of the Welsh team to reach the new home ground, which fills The New Saints with confidence.
