Conte Responds to Title Pressure: Teams with Higher Salaries Should Bear the Responsibility of Winning Serie A

In the 7th round of the Serie A league, Napoli will host Como at home. Before the match, Napoli’s head coach Conte attended a press conference.

Currently, Napoli leads the league with 13 points, showing excellent performance in the first six rounds and becoming one of the strongest teams in Serie A.

Conte said: “The beginning of the season is an adjustment period, and the constant change of leadership in Serie A also reflects this. What’s important is accumulating points on the leaderboard and preparing for the tougher times ahead.”

“I shared many important moments with Fabregas (current head coach of Como) when we won the Premier League and FA Cup together. I always expected him to become a coach because he was always curious and asked me for advice. I believe his team is the dark horse of this season, with promising players like Paz and Perone, as well as experienced players like Sergi Roberto and Cutrone.”

“Lukaku has already started training at the same intensity as his teammates. Obviously, he needs more time because his physique is different, heavier. However, I always believe he is a player who can change the course of the game.”

“We must adapt to the pressure and turn it into a positive factor by staying focused and blocking out external distractions. Some people will transfer pressure onto us, but I always say ‘if you chose to ride a bicycle, now you have to ride it, and ride it fast.’ We need to realize that winning also requires historical accumulation.”

“Can Napoli win the Serie A title? No one is foolish. Some teams have significantly higher assets and salary totals than us; they are the ones who must win the championship.”
