According to reports from Spain’s AS newspaper, the FIFA Council has recently approved a series of special policies aimed at the 2025 Club World Cup, including the establishment of new transfer windows.
The first edition of the expanded 32-team Club World Cup is set to kick off on June 15, 2025, and conclude on July 13, spanning two seasons. As part of the tournament, FIFA is providing an additional transfer opportunity for the football associations of participating teams, specifically a transfer window open from June 1 to June 10, to facilitate player transfers and ensure their participation in this club version of the World Cup held in the United States.
The tournament will feature 32 teams, including Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
According to the relevant regulations, the FIFA member associations of the participating clubs have the right to decide whether to utilize this special transfer window. This window is designed to allow teams to complete player transfer procedures between June 1 and June 10, 2025, ensuring smooth participation in the Club World Cup.
Notably, to address situations where some players’ contracts expire during the tournament, FIFA also permits participating clubs to replace these players between June 27 and July 3. This measure aims to facilitate agreements between clubs and players whose contracts are expiring, ensuring the smooth running of the competition.
