On June 14th, Qingdao West Coast Football Club officially announced the signing of Japanese coach Kametani Makoto. From this date forward, Mr. Kametani will assume the role of assistant coach for the first team, participating in the Chinese Super League this season.
According to the introduction, Kametani Makoto was born on April 24, 1968, in Japan and holds a Japanese Football Association A-Level coaching license. As a player, he had played for clubs like Sapporo Consadole and Osaka Sakura in the top tier of Japanese football. In 2001, he embarked on his coaching career, serving as the U15 and U18 youth team coach for鹿岛鹿角 (Kashima Antlers). In 2016, Kametani came to China, where he coached at Yinchuan Helan Mountain Football Club and later served as the head coach for the U14, U16 teams of Guangzhou City Football Club and the U17 team of Guangzhou Bao Football Club. Between 2019 and 2023, he also held the position of Football Director at Takigawa Second High School, a renowned football academy in Japan.
