On September 28, the 2024 China Taiping Chinese Football Association Women’s Super League (hereinafter referred to as “Women’s Super League”) entered its final round, with all six matches kicking off simultaneously. Wuhan Women’s Team Secures Fifth Consecutive Title; Shui Qingxia Leads Changchun to Second Place

In a key match of this round, veteran player Wu Haiyan’s poke shot helped Wuhan Chedagu Jiangda Women’s Team defeat Shaanxi Zhidan Women’s Team 1-0. With their strong strength and resilience, Wuhan Women’s Team once again clinched the championship, achieving the remarkable feat of winning five consecutive titles in the Women’s Super League.

From the league table, it can be seen that this season’s title race was quite fierce. Before the final round, Wuhan only led Changchun by one point. Although Changchun Dazhong Zhuoyue Women’s Team narrowly missed out on the championship, they ended the season with a victory under the leadership of coach Shui Qingxia, defeating Hangzhou Bank Women’s Team 3-0. Changchun finished second, just one point behind.

Shui Qingxia, who took over Changchun Women’s Team in July this year, led the team forward step by step. After leaving her position as head coach of the Chinese Women’s National Team, Coach Shui started afresh. In terms of relegation, Hainan Nongxin Qiongzhong Women’s Team had only one win, six draws, and fifteen losses this season, accumulating nine points and being relegated due to an early drop in performance. Although they are leaving the Women’s Super League, a temporary goodbye does not mean a permanent farewell. After the final round of matches, Henan Women’s Team defeated Hainan Qiongzhong 6-2, Yongchuan Chashan Zhuhai Chengshi drew 0-0 away with Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank, and Hangzhou Bank lost 0-3 to Changchun Dazhong Zhuoyue.

As a result, Hangzhou Women’s Team finished eleventh with 17 points and will play a decisive match against the second-placed team in the Women’s First Division to compete for a spot in the Women’s Super League.
