On September 25, Nanjing City released an official announcement, declaring that starting from today, Zhang Xiaofeng will serve as the head coach of the first team.

After friendly negotiations and reaching a consensus with him, Zhang Xiaofeng will take up the position of head coach of the first team at Nanjing City Football Club starting from today. Born on June 11, 1981, in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Zhang Xiaofeng graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Nanjing University and holds a master’s degree from Wuhan Institute of Physical Education. He is a coach instructor for the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and an AFC Pro License holder.
During his playing career, he played for Jiangsu Sainty Football Club from 1998 to 2003. After retiring, Zhang Xiaofeng served as a youth training coach for Jiangsu Sainty Football Club from 2004 to 2007, and later held the position of general manager at Wutaishan Youth Football Club in Jiangsu Province for a long period. In the 2018 season, Zhang Xiaofeng was appointed as the youth training supervisor at Dalian Professional Football Club; in 2020, he returned to Nanjing and became the youth training director at Jiangsu Suning Football Club; in the 2021 season, Zhang Xiaofeng took on the role of youth training director and assistant coach of the first team at Nanjing City Football Club; in the 2022 season, he served as the head coach of the first team at Nanjing City, leading the team to compete in the China League One and achieved the highest points record in the club’s China League One history; subsequently, he left the coaching position and became the vice general manager of Nanjing City Football Club.
