According to the latest news from Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers, the Friedkin Group is close to completing its acquisition of Everton, with an expected investment into the club of between £400m and £500m.
Dan Friedkin, a Texas billionaire and current owner of Roma, had come close to sealing a deal to buy Everton a few months ago but pulled out after concerns over loans between the club and other investors.
Everton fans have endured months of uncertainty since majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri first agreed to sell his stake to US investment firm 777 Partners in September last year. That deal ultimately fell through when no formal agreement was reached with 777 Partners by May 31st.
Everton plans to move to its new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium for the 2025/26 season, with the stadium’s construction expected to be completed by December this year.
