Kompany: We Performed Better Than Leverkusen But Lacked in Finishing

In the fifth round of the Bundesliga, Andrich scored first, followed by Pavlovic equalizing, ultimately leading to a 1-1 draw between Bayern Munich and Leverkusen at home. After the game, Bayern Munich’s head coach Kompany accepted an interview with the media.

When asked if he was surprised by Leverkusen’s defensive strategy, Kompany replied, “No. Because we knew that Leverkusen’s strength lies in their ability to excel in both pressing when needed and defending well when required. We did many things right. Perhaps on another day, we would have been more successful in our finishing. But my team performed well.”

Kompany also spoke about returning to England to face Villa on Wednesday, saying, “I haven’t thought about going back to England or the Champions League yet, but I believe it will be a very exciting match for our fans. I think Villa hasn’t participated in the Champions League for 20 to 30 years. It will be a special experience. But so far, we’ve only been focused on Leverkusen. Starting from tonight, we’ll talk about Villa.”
