According to Tuttosport, AC Milan’s new manager Fonseca has made it his top priority to bolster the backline, with Portuguese center-back Rett of Berlin United emerging as the primary target.
Milan conceded 49 goals in the league last season, the most among the top 10 teams in Serie A. The Italian newspaper reports that Fonseca favors a more balanced tactical approach, hence shoring up the defense will be at the forefront of the Portuguese coach’s agenda. With internal options uncertain, the former Porto boss is looking to the transfer market for solutions.
The 25-year-old Rett, standing at 1.9 meters tall, joined Berlin United on loan from FC Porto in the summer of 2022 and made the move permanent last summer. Last season, he featured in 40 matches for the German side, including six appearances in the UEFA Champions League.柏林联合 is open to selling the Portuguese defender for an offer of €18 million.
In addition to Rett, AC Milan is also monitoring Arsenal’s Kiwior. On the right-back position, Villa’s Cash, Tottenham’s Emerson, and Lille’s Thiago Santos are among the names under consideration.
