According to Spanish newspaper AS, the Serbian national team has an average height of 186.5 centimeters, making them the tallest squad in this year’s European Championship. Denmark and the Czech Republic follow closely behind, while Spain averages only 181 centimeters.
With a roster of skilled players, Serbia is tipped for success in the tournament, especially given their aerial superiority. Under coach Stojković, the team boasts the tallest players in the competition, with an average height of 186.5 cm. Next come Denmark (186.2 cm) and the Czech Republic (185.9 cm).
The standout in terms of height is Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić, who stands at 2.02 meters. Additionally, Serbia has nine other players measuring over 1.90 meters. Midfielders Sergej Milinković-Savić (1.92 m) and Marko Grujić (1.89 m) are also notably tall. The shortest player on the team is right-winger Filip Kostić, standing at just 1.69 meters.
In comparison, the Spanish squad appears relatively short, averaging 181.7 centimeters. Their tallest players are Joselu, Laporte, Remiro, and Rodrigo, all at 1.91 meters, while ten players fall below the 180 cm mark. This detail is noteworthy but not necessarily a cause for concern, as only Germany, among the 11 tallest teams, is considered a strong title contender.
