According to Sky Sports, Roma’s owner, the Friedkin Group, has reached an agreement with Everton’s majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, to take over the Premier League club.
It is reported that the Friedkin Group submitted a bid last week, and besides Friedkin, there were several other interested buyers for Everton. However, according to media sources, Friedkin is currently in a dominant position, with Moshiri having accepted their offer.
Notably, in September last year, Moshiri agreed to sell Everton to US investment firm 777 Partners, but the acquisition deal fell through, ending on May 31st of this year.
The American businessman, with an estimated net worth of around £4.8bn, entered the professional sports arena in 2017 and acquired Roma in 2020 for a price of $591 million.
