The first round of the Segunda Division promotion playoffs has concluded, with RCD Espanyol and Real Oviedo emerging victorious to set up a final showdown.
Espanyol, who finished fourth in the regular season, defeated fifth-placed Sporting Gijón with a 1-0 away win and a goalless home draw, securing a 1-0 aggregate victory. Meanwhile, Real Oviedo, sixth in the regular season, knocked out third-placed Eibar after two goalless draws at home and a 2-0 away win, advancing with a 2-0 aggregate score.
The promotion playoff final will also consist of two legs, with the first leg taking place on June 17 at 0:30 at Real Oviedo’s home ground, and the return leg scheduled for June 24 at 0:30 at RCD Espanyol’s stadium.
