The Copa América has kicked off, and Brazil is once again in contention. However, in an interview leading up to the tournament, Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho stated that he will not be supporting his home team in this edition of the competition.
Ronaldinho said, “I don’t plan on watching any of Brazil’s matches. This team lacks everything, from spirit to joy, to great technical skills. I won’t be watching their games.”
His comments have sparked controversy in Brazil, and this isn’t the first time he has made such statements. Throughout his career, Ronaldinho only participated in one Copa América, back in 1999, where he was a substitute and helped the team win the title.
In 2010, he also made remarks about not watching Brazil’s matches, explaining, “I won’t watch Brazil play because I’m still a player, and my focus is on playing football. Watching games doesn’t interest me.”
