Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary Manchester United manager, has flown to Munich to watch the opening match of the Euros and lend his support to Scotland. The Scotsman happily posed for pictures with Tartan Army fans from his home country. Thomas Johnston from Drumlish Village said, “Sir Alex was really approachable. He was happy to take photos and said he’s really looking forward to the game tonight. It’s great to meet a Scottish legend like him.” Ferguson was spotted near Munich’s Marienplatz, where thousands of Scottish fans had gathered. Several metro stations in the city were temporarily closed due to the large number of supporters as a safety precaution.
