Croatia’s Coach Dalić: Everything Remains in Our Hands, We’ll Fight Italy in the Final Round

Dalić commented after the game, “This match was not easy; the first half was completely different from the second. We gave our all in the second half, going up 2-1, but then we conceded. It’s very unfortunate, but everything is still in our hands. Now we move forward, we fight Italy, and it’s not over yet. We haven’t lost anything.”

Referring to the match, Dalić said, “We wanted to exploit Perišić and Juranović on the wings for an advantage. Petković’s position upfront should have given us more possession, but we were too slow. In the last five minutes, everything changed. We gave them opportunities.”

Commenting on the result, Dalić expressed, “Conceding in the final moments is painful, but if you look at the first half, it could have been worse. The issue isn’t about tactics, but rather the execution was lacking, too slow, too sluggish. I apologize for our unnecessary retreat in the end; clearly, we lacked strength.”
