The tide turned after Romania’s 3-0 victory over Ukraine in the group stage. Becali confirmed, “Yes, Al Duhail will pay Coman’s release clause, and the money should come in today or tomorrow. Regardless, Coman’s valuation is on the rise, but the release clause has now been triggered, and we will lose him. One could say that the match against Ukraine was Coman’s last appearance for FC București Star in the national team.” Romania’s next Euro Cup match is against Belgium.

Coman’s current market value stands at €7 million, and Al Duhail initially hesitated to pay the €5 million transfer fee, stalling the move. However, with Coman shining on the Euro Cup stage, the Qatari club finally decided to trigger the release clause, ensuring they secure his services.
