Aston Martin Ambassador: Alonso Was Born for Racing, His Life Is All About Sleep, Eat, and Race

On June 16, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, Pedro de la Rosa, an Aston Martin ambassador and former Formula 1 driver turned commentator, shared his thoughts on Fernando Alonso, the two-time champion and current Aston Martin driver.

De la Rosa stated, “Fernando has been taking care of himself his whole life. His life is motorsport. He sleeps, eats, and lives for racing, and that’s what sets him apart. If you don’t demand a lot from yourself, you won’t be racing in Formula One in your forties, but Fernando has done it.”

Furthermore, De la Rosa added, “In fact, he’s almost 43 now, and when his new contract ends, he’ll be 45, and yet he’s still in the conversation – I think that says it all. I’ve known him since his karting days, and I don’t see an end in sight. Then, he’s one of those characters who, if at any point during his career he sees a decline in his performance, he would immediately think about stopping.”
