Spanish Manager: No One Stronger Than Us; Victory Doesn't Reflect Our Advantage

After Spain secured a 1-0 victory against Italy on June 21st, advancing as group leaders to the knockout stages, head coach Luis Enrique offered his thoughts in an interview. Praises were heaped on the team for their performance, with Enrique stating, “No one is stronger than us.”

When discussing the advancement, he expressed, “There’s immense joy and excitement within me. Most importantly, I’m incredibly proud of this team. As I’ve said before, they never settle for less, and they’ve shown it once again today.”

Regarding the narrow margin, he commented, “This was a fiercely contested match. We dominated throughout, creating numerous opportunities, but the score didn’t fully capture our dominance. Today, we learned that every win is hard-fought.”

Looking ahead to the Round of 16, he emphasized, “Every Euro Cup game is a new challenge. We must remain humble and continue pushing, as there’s always room for improvement. The upcoming matches will be even more demanding, but our players have the potential to elevate further.”

When asked about Spain’s status as favorites, he replied, “We need to maintain our current form and momentum. We consider ourselves among the strongest teams. We respect all opponents, but we walk forward with confidence. As long as we keep delivering, our future expectations are high.”
