The U21 national football team announced their training squad list yesterday. According to the Beijing Youth Daily, the new U21 head coach, Antonio, arrived in Beijing today (August 19). Bai Helamu is temporarily not on the U21 list due to his selection for the national team training squad.
The Chinese Football Association officially announced last week that they have hired the original Spanish head coach of the 2003 age group U20 national team, Antonio, to lead the new 2003 age group U21 national team.
According to the plan, Antonio arrived in Beijing on August 19. Prior to this, after reaching a consensus with the Chinese Football Association on coaching matters, Antonio’s coaching team had already formulated a detailed preparation plan for the team. The official notification released by the Chinese Football Association on the 19th shows that the first training camp of the new U21 national team will kick off on August 23 at the Xianghe National Team Training Base. The entire team will depart for Changsha City on September 2 to prepare for the Four Nations International Youth Football Invitational Tournament held there. The opponents are the U21 teams of Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and Malaysia.
It is understood that in terms of the squad, as an elite player of the 2003 age group, Bai Helamu is temporarily unable to participate in the training and matches of the U21 national team due to his selection for the new national team training squad and participation in the first two rounds of the 18-strong tournament.
