On July 11, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Paris Saint-Germain has made a transfer offer to Napoli, aiming to secure the services of two star attackers, Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, in a €200 million package deal.
In the aftermath of Mbappé’s virtually certain move to Real Madrid, PSG needs to make moves in the summer transfer market, both for market impact and competitive reasons. Nasser Al-Khelaifi has set his sights on Serie A, with former Serie A top scorer Osimhen already linked to several European giants, including the Ligue 1 champions. The crux of the matter is that while De Laurentiis and new Napoli coach Conte have mentally prepared for Osimhen’s departure and are willing to listen to offers, they are reluctant to let go of Kvaratskhelia this summer, despite the player and his entourage publicly expressing a desire for new challenges.
Negotiations between PSG and Napoli began last year, with PSG hoping to acquire Osimhen for €150 million, while De Laurentiis insisted on nothing less than €200 million. It’s no secret that PSG wants to reinforce their attack, having lost Mbappé and looking to sell Mouani, who has become an alternative option for Atlético Madrid following Morata’s potential departure. Thus, PSG’s €200 million bid for Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia is a serious one, especially considering that both players’ future ambitions lie outside Serie A. PSG’s stance is firm, and negotiations with Napoli will be arduous.
Regardless, the summer window has just opened, and anything can happen. Napoli is also preparing its next move. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Napoli is exploring the possibility of signing Lukaku, as a contingency plan for a potential reshuffling of their attacking line. Conte is keen to reunite with the Belgian striker at Napoli, offering Lukaku another chance to link up beautifully on the pitch with Spinazzola.
